The customer decision

What Your Component Quote Includes

Before sending a confidential BOM, engineering and procurement teams need to know who controls alternates, how risky lots are screened, what evidence follows the parts and what happens when one line cannot be bought.

Send the BOM before the risk becomes urgent.

Missing MPNs, unclear descriptions and DNP notes are acceptable. EBest PCBA flags gaps and open questions instead of rejecting an incomplete file.

Prototype and NPI buildsConfirm package, lifecycle, stock and assembly data before the first material order.
02
Repeat-production programsPlan approved alternates, buffer stock and ongoing EOL or lead-time monitoring.
03
Shortage, allocation and EOL recoveryEvaluate authorized, franchised and audited sourcing routes without changing locked parts silently.

Which BOM Lines Could Delay Production?

The review turns an ordinary BOM into a ranked action list. Lifecycle, availability, compliance, package and alternate-part differences are considered together before purchasing begins.

Choose the Sourcing Model That Fits Your Project

The quotation identifies the sourcing responsibility and review point by line, whether your project is consigned, partial-turnkey, full-turnkey or component-only.

How We Approve Sources and Higher-Risk Parts

Authorized and franchised channels are prioritized. When availability forces a different route, the sourcing risk and additional verification are made visible before purchase approval.

01
Authorized and franchised sources firstManufacturer-backed distribution, documentation and traceability are prioritized whenever stock and schedule allow.
02
Approved independent suppliersQualified sources are selected from the approved vendor network, with lot and document review matched to the sourcing risk.
03
Open-market route by exceptionHigher-risk lots require expanded verification such as marking review, X-Ray, LCR, solderability or de-cap options before release.
04
Customer approval before substitutionAlternates are proposed side by side. Locked MPNs stay locked, and the customer controls the final sourcing decision.

Examples of Sourcing Decisions Before Production

The examples below are anonymized. They show the type of decision and documented result produced by BOM review and sourcing recovery.

EOL Review for a Seven-Year-Old Patient Monitor BOM

Eight critical parts required a last-time-buy sourcing response so the established product could continue without immediate redesign and revalidation.

Three EOL Parts and One Connector Mismatch Found

The BOM review was connected to DFM so lifecycle risk and a five-pin versus twelve-pin connector mismatch could be corrected before fabrication and assembly.

What Happens After We Receive Your BOM

Sales receives the BOM securely, engineering reviews technical alternatives, purchasing confirms source and availability, and the customer approves substitutions before purchase.

01Email the BOM or request an NDA

Send XLS, XLSX or CSV with the quantity, delivery destination and any locked part numbers. Partial information is enough to start.

02Receive the risk review

The first BOM is free. BOMs under 100 lines qualify for the one-working-hour express review; larger files receive a confirmed schedule.

03Confirm quote and alternates

Availability, sourcing route, inspection scope, schedule and proposed alternates are recorded before any substitution or purchase decision.

04Land, inspect and release parts

Approved material moves through incoming control, kitting and the agreed PCBA or component-only delivery route.

ProcurementSupplier, stock, price, lead time and shortage escalation.
Component engineeringLifecycle, package and alternate-part difference review.
QualitySupplier qualification, incoming inspection and authenticity evidence.
PCBA engineeringMSL, package process data, kitting and production-release fit.

Start with the BOM you already have.

Email the file, request an NDA first, or send one difficult MPN for an initial sourcing discussion. EBest PCBA will identify the open questions, confirm the review process and connect the sourcing decision to your PCBA schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Questions buyers ask before sharing a BOM.

What should I send for a component sourcing review?
Send the BOM you have, preferably in XLS, XLSX or CSV format with manufacturer part numbers, quantities and any locked or customer-specified parts. Target build quantity and delivery location help the review. Missing information is flagged as an open item.
Is the first BOM health review free?
Yes. The first BOM health review is free. For BOMs under 100 lines, an express review is available within one working hour. Larger BOMs receive a confirmed review schedule after the file is checked.
Will EBest PCBA change components without approval?
No. Every proposed alternate is compared side by side. Customer-locked parts remain locked, and no alternate is used without customer approval.
Can EBest PCBA source EOL, NRND or hard-to-find parts?
Yes. EBest PCBA supports EOL, NRND, last-time-buy and shortage recovery through authorized, franchised and audited sourcing routes. Higher-risk sourcing routes receive additional verification before production release.
How do you control counterfeit component risk?
Supplier qualification, document and label review, visual inspection, marking permanency, X-Ray, LCR and de-cap options are applied according to sourcing risk. Authenticity checks are carried out according to the sourcing and inspection plan in your quotation.
Can I request date-code and traceability records?
Yes. Date-code, supplier, incoming inspection and lot records can be connected to the production program. Supported programs retain sourcing and production traceability records for 15 years.
Do you support customer-supplied or partial-turnkey components?
Yes. EBest PCBA supports consigned, partial-turnkey, full-turnkey and component-only sourcing routes. The quotation identifies the sourcing responsibility and any shortages or open questions by line.
Can I request an NDA before sending my BOM?
Yes. Request a mutual NDA before emailing project files. EBest PCBA can also begin with a high-level parts list or sourcing question if you are not ready to share the complete BOM.
