Sourcing and Verification

Verify the Supplier, Part Number and Traceability

EBest PCBA prioritizes authorized distribution, uses qualified suppliers when needed, and applies additional verification to shortage or EOL parts. Approved components then move through incoming inspection before PCBA production.

Production material specialist checking component reels at an SMT line

Before components reach the assembly line, we verify the approved source, part number, quantity, and incoming status.

01
Authorized and franchised sources firstManufacturer-backed distribution, documentation and traceability are prioritized whenever stock and schedule allow.
02
Qualified supplier networkApproved sources are selected from the vendor network with documentation, lot and supplier-history checks matched to project risk.
03
Shortage and EOL escalationIndependent-market or limited-stock options are clearly identified and receive additional verification before purchase.
04
Customer approval before changeLocked parts remain unchanged. Proposed alternatives are compared and cannot be used in production without customer approval.
BOM engineering deliverable

What the line-card review confirms before purchasing begins.

The review goes beyond a list of brands. Each BOM line is checked for availability, lifecycle status, technical fit, and source documentation before purchase.

Review areaWhat EBest PCBA checksWhat the customer receives
Manufacturer and MPNBrand, exact part number, description, package and quantity against the supplied BOM.Confirmed MPN, missing information, and questions to resolve.

Sourcing Examples

Three sourcing decisions the line card should help you make.

The first two examples are anonymized sourcing cases. The third shows a typical shortage-review scenario.

Published case · lifecycle recovery

A component in a seven-year-old medical-product BOM reached end-of-life status and required an approved replacement.

Eight critical parts required a last-time-buy response so the established product could continue without immediate redesign and revalidation.

Decision
Secure approved supply and define the long-term supply plan.
Response
14-hour sourcing response.
Result
Published project result: product life extended by three years.
Review the sourcing case →
Published case · pre-NPI review

Lifecycle and connector risks were found before production.

Three EOL lines and one five-pin versus twelve-pin connector mismatch were connected to the DFM and sourcing decision.

Decision
Correct the BOM before fabrication and assembly.
Evidence
Lifecycle risk and connector fit were flagged together.
Result
Published estimate: approximately US$40K of rework exposure avoided.

Representative example · shortage review

A locked semiconductor is unavailable within the standard lead time.

Purchasing needs a supply option while engineering needs control over package, grade and any proposed alternate.

Check
Authorized stock, qualified supply and lifecycle status.
Control
Disclose the supplier source and inspection requirements.
Release
Customer approves any alternate before production.

FAQ

FAQs About Component Sourcing and Line Cards

Is EBest PCBA an authorized distributor for every manufacturer shown?
No. The manufacturer names identify representative families commonly reviewed for customer BOMs. The quotation confirms the actual supplier and channel status for each MPN. EBest PCBA prioritizes authorized and franchised sources when stock and schedule allow, then discloses any qualified or risk-evaluated alternative route before purchase.
Can EBest PCBA source a manufacturer that is not listed?
Yes. This is a representative line card rather than a complete supplier database. Send the manufacturer and MPN; EBest PCBA will check sourcing options, lifecycle status, quantity, lead time, and required verification before confirming supply.
Will EBest PCBA substitute a component without approval?
No. Customer-locked parts remain locked. Any proposed alternate is compared by package, electrical parameters, temperature grade, qualification, lifecycle and supply status, and cannot be used in production without customer approval.
How is counterfeit component risk controlled?
Supplier qualification, source and document review, label and packaging checks, visual inspection, marking verification, X-Ray, LCR and de-cap options are applied according to sourcing risk. The required inspection checks are confirmed before purchase.
Can I request date-code, lot and traceability records?
Yes. Date-code, lot, supplier, incoming inspection and production records can be connected to supported PCBA programs. State the required record scope in the BOM or quotation request so the required records can be included in the quotation and traceability plan.
What should my BOM include?
Send XLS, XLSX or CSV with manufacturer, MPN, quantity and any locked, DNP or customer-supplied lines. Target build quantity, delivery destination and alternate-part rules help the review. Missing fields do not prevent the first discussion.
Can I request an NDA before sharing the BOM?
Yes. Request a mutual NDA before emailing confidential files. EBest PCBA can also start with one difficult MPN or a high-level shortage list if you are not ready to share the complete BOM.
