Material and bend-duty review

Materials Matched to the Bend

We select polyimide, adhesive system, rolled-annealed or electrodeposited copper, coverlay and stiffeners against your construction and use conditions. Specify bend direction, radius, angle, motion frequency and target cycles for moving interconnects.

PI base film

Adhesive and adhesiveless systems selected against finished thickness and dimensional behavior.

RA / ED copper

Choose the copper type and grain direction for either static or repeated bending.

Coverlay and openings

Check coverlay alignment, adhesive flow, and exposed pads before production.

Stiffener / PSA

PI, FR4, steel, aluminum and PSA choices tied to connector and installation interfaces.

Static flex

Static flex is formed during installation and normally remains in position.

Dynamic flex

Dynamic flex moves during service and needs a construction and qualification plan matched to the movement and environment.

FPC DFM review

Flexible PCB DFM Review

We check bend-zone routing, coverlay openings, stiffener transitions, vias, impedance regions and panel handling against your drawing. The review identifies the affected location, required clarification and proposed change before production.

01

Bend-zone routing

Checks trace direction, abrupt width changes, corners and feature placement through the flexible region.

02

Stiffener transition

Reviews support edges, overlap, adhesive and stress transfer around contacts or mounted components.

03

Coverlay openings

Confirms pad exposure, registration allowance and coverlay interaction with fine traces and connector areas.

04

Via and hole placement

Keep vias and plated holes out of repeated bend areas. Add support where needed.

05

Impedance stack-up

Aligns copper, dielectric thickness, trace geometry and reference structure with the target impedance.

06

Panel and handling plan

Accounts for tooling, carrier support, assembly handling and the final separation method.

Controlled production route

Flexible PCB Manufacturing and Testing

Production follows your approved data and flex stack. Electrical testing and final inspection are agreed for the build and volume. Dynamic bend qualification is defined separately, with movement, environment and acceptance criteria.

01

File and DFM Review

Approve fabrication data, the flex stack, bend zones and tolerances.

02

Material Control

Prepare the selected polyimide, copper, adhesive and reinforcement materials.

FAQ

Flexible PCB Manufacturing Questions

What files are needed for an FPC quote?
Send fabrication data, the drawing, proposed stack-up, quantity and any bend, stiffener, connector or impedance requirements. A review can begin with partial information.
How do static and dynamic flex differ?
Static flex is normally formed during installation. Dynamic flex moves repeatedly in service. Dynamic designs need defined bend radius, direction, angle, frequency, target cycles and environment before qualification.
Which copper and base materials can be reviewed?
Polyimide systems with rolled-annealed or electrodeposited copper can be reviewed. Adhesive system, coverlay, stiffeners and PSA are selected for the construction and use conditions.
Can you support controlled impedance on FPC?
Yes, subject to review. Send impedance targets, tolerance, reference planes and the stack-up. Geometry, dielectric thickness, copper and the test method are confirmed together.
How are flexible circuits tested?
The order defines the electrical test method and inspection scope. Flying-probe or fixture-based testing can be assessed for the build. Dynamic bend qualification is specified separately.
Can FPC fabrication be combined with assembly?
Yes, subject to project review. Send the BOM, placement data, connector and stiffener details, handling requirements and test plan so fabrication and assembly can be coordinated.
