SMT assembly normally requires approved PCB data, a BOM with manufacturer part numbers, a pick-and-place or centroid file and an assembly drawing. Add stencil, solder paste, polarity, DNP, programming, coating and test requirements when applicable. The BOM and placement data must use matching reference designators and the same revision; inconsistencies should be resolved before material preparation or machine programming.
