Stencil thickness and aperture design depend on component mix, pad geometry, solder-paste volume, fine-pitch devices, thermal pads and step-stencil needs. A single default thickness may not serve both small passive parts and large power components. The assembler should review the land pattern and package mix, then confirm the stencil approach before the first build.
