Programming can be included when the device, firmware, programming interface, security method and acceptance check are defined. Provide the controlled firmware revision, checksum where available, programming instructions and responsibility for keys or licenses. Decide whether programming occurs before placement, in-circuit or during functional test, and define how successful programming will be recorded.
