The customer or designated design authority approves changes that affect released design data, function, fit or specified requirements. The manufacturer may propose a correction or preferred production rule, but an unconfirmed change should not be treated as authorized. Record the approved response with the project revision so quotation, fabrication, assembly and repeat orders use the same decision.
