A golden sample can provide a physical reference for appearance, assembly orientation or functional behavior when its revision and approval status are controlled. It should support, not replace, drawings, BOM data and measurable acceptance criteria. Identify who approved it, how it is stored and what happens when the design changes so an obsolete sample does not control a later build.
