Define excess-material handling before the build. The agreement should cover received quantity, production attrition, damaged or nonconforming parts, remaining reels, return shipping and retention time. Customer-supplied material should be identified against the project and revision so leftovers are not mixed with another build. Final reconciliation depends on package type, feeder setup and actual process loss.
