When should HDI, blind vias or buried vias be used?

HDI structures are considered …

EBest PCBA Engineering Team

HDI structures are considered when routing density, fine-pitch packages, board size or electrical performance cannot be achieved with conventional through-hole construction. Blind and buried vias can release routing space but add lamination steps, registration constraints, cost and inspection requirements. Use them only where the design benefit justifies the process complexity, and confirm via structure, aspect ratio and stack-up with the fabricator early.
